Saudi Arabia eVisa requirements and tourist visa information
Understand Saudi eVisa eligibility, documents, passport and photo rules, permitted travel and entry conditions before applying.
What is the Saudi Arabia eVisa?
The Saudi Arabia eVisa is an Electronic Visa for eligible travellers visiting Saudi Arabia for permitted short visits. The Saudi Tourist Visa application is completed online and an approved visa is sent electronically.
Who can apply?
Saudi eVisa eligibility depends on nationality and passport. In some situations, eligibility may also depend on qualifying US, UK, Schengen or GCC visa or residence status. Eligibility is not universal and should be checked for the individual traveller.
Permitted purposes
- tourism and leisure;
- events;
- visiting family and relatives;
- Umrah, where permitted.
Not permitted
The Saudi Tourist Visa cannot be used for Hajj, paid employment, unpaid work or as a Work Visa.
Passport requirements
Your passport should normally remain valid for at least 6 months from arrival. Travel using the same passport used for the application, and ensure every application detail matches it.
Photo requirements
- exactly 200 × 200 px in a 1:1 ratio and 5–100 KB;
- taken within the last 6 months against a plain white background;
- face centred, looking directly at the camera and filling approximately 70–80%;
- no shadows, patterns, other people or objects;
- the entire head visible; religious head coverings are permitted when the full face remains visible.
Saudi accommodation
The application asks where you will stay in Saudi Arabia: a residential or relative address, or commercial accommodation such as a hotel.
Medical insurance
Medical insurance is a mandatory component integrated into the official Saudi Tourist Visa process. This application does not ask you to upload an existing insurance policy.
Validity and maximum stay
A standard multiple-entry Saudi eVisa may be issued with validity of up to one year and may allow multiple entries. The permitted stay may be up to 90 days or three months. The conditions printed on the visa actually issued always prevail.
Processing time
Official processing can range from very quickly to several working days. Some applications require additional checks, so approval within a particular time is not guaranteed.
Receiving the eVisa
The approved eVisa is sent electronically. Keep an accessible copy during your journey.
Entry requirements
Travel with the same passport used in your application, ensure it meets the validity rule, carry a copy of the eVisa and respect the visa purpose and conditions.
Umrah and Hajj
Umrah may be permitted, but a Saudi Tourist eVisa cannot be used for Hajj. Temporary restrictions may apply during the Hajj season and rules can change from year to year.
Application mistakes and passport changes
Review all information carefully. False or incorrect details may lead to rejection. Use the same passport after approval; if it is replaced, verify your visa situation before travel.
Extension and refusal
Do not assume that a standard Saudi eVisa can be extended. Respect its validity and stay limit. Payment and submission do not guarantee approval; the decision belongs to Saudi authorities.

Travel using the same passport used for your Saudi eVisa application.
Passport validity
Your passport should normally remain valid for at least 6 months from entry.

Accurate information
False or misleading information may result in rejection or other consequences.
Admission is not guaranteed
Holding an approved eVisa does not automatically guarantee entry into Saudi Arabia. Final admission is determined by immigration authorities.
